Obadiah owned land in several places, but lived in Goochland where most of the children were christened by Rev. William Douglas.

Here are several deeds recorded in Henrico Co, but stating Obadiah to be of Chesterfield Co which I presume to be this man.

p.168 7 Aug 1769 Bond of Isaac Winston, planter of Hanover Co & Obadiah Smith of Chesterfield, trustee for my daughter Elizabeth Winston. The amount of 600 pounds, 300 pounds on the day she comes of age or marries. Signed: Isaac Winston. Rec. 7 Aug 1769

His will was probated 2 May 1777 in Chesterfield Co. Peartree received land in Mecklenburg Co; Obadiah, land in Chesterfield Co & in North Carolina; William, land in Halifax. Named daughters Lucy, Elizabeth and Edith Christmas.
