Chesterfield went to Nashville for his education; he inherited land in KY, TN, and NC. He wrote his will 9 Sep 1822 and it was probated at the Oct Court, WB B, p.460, Warren Co KY. Most of the estate was given to Leroy Jackson and William Marshall. Other bequests included gifts to his cousin Elizabeth H. Marshall, Leroy's sons Clinton and Warren, and to Catherine Esther Marshall, daughter of William Marshall. A paragraph was added later - his tract of land in Robinson Co TN and his interest in a tract in NC were to go to his mother's brothers and sister. Signed: C. Jackson. Wit: David H. Philips & Humphrey Marshall. A list of his good and chattels listed Feb Term 1823 included 18 slaves.
