Mrs. Sue Pl McLemore died last night at 6:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. M. Woodard, in Blooming Grove. She will be buried at Sulphur Springs tomorrow. Mrs. McLemore is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Woodard, at whose home she died, and three sons, Luther and James McLemore of silver City, NM and Van Alstye, Texas, respectively, and Jno D. Williams of Sulphur Springs. The married daughter and the two first-named sons are the children of a second husband who died at Sulphur Springs several years ago. Her first husband was killed at the battle of Murfreesboro. She also has residing at Sulphur Springs a brother, Mr. G. F. Ashcroft.
Mrs. McLemore was prominent in UDC work at Sulphur springs before leaving there to make her home first at Winnsboro and then about a year ago at Blooming Grove. She was also prominent in social and church work and to her untiring energy is attributed much of the success of the cemetery association at Sulphur Springs in beautifying the cemetery which will be made her final final resting place and where are buried some of those whom she loved most.
The Confederate Camp at Sulphur Springs bears the name of Matt Ashcroft, a brother who enlisted in the army as a boy and was with Hood's Texas Brigade. She loved the South and the Confederacy and delighted in doing all she could to make others happy. She enjoyed the friendship of all who knew her. She was a good and useful woman.

Mrs. Sue P. McLemore - Quietly passed away at her home in Blooming Grove, Navarro Co TX, on 27 Jan 1916. She was born in the Republic of Texas 79 years ago. She had lived in Sulphur Springs for many years in the long ago. She was the mother and sister of our citizens, Jno. D. Williams and B. F. Ashcroft. Mrs. McLemore came to this city about 1856, was married to Luther Williams who gave his life for the cause of the Southern Confederacy. Subsequently, she married Mr. McLemore, and to that union were born three children: Mrs. S. M. Woodard, James and Luther McLemore. Member of the Methodist church. Funeral services were conducted at the home of B. F. Ashcroft with interment in the Sulphur Springs City cemetery. SULPHUR SPRINGS GAZETTE, 4 Feb 1916.
