Marriage license was issued, Boone Co, on 31 May 1851 to David M. Hume, of Marion Co,and Elizabeth Harmon, of Boone, both of legal age as proved by John S. Shaw. John R. Trick, JP, married them on June 1st.

There is a Civil War Pension card. Elizabeth Hume, widow of David M. Hume. He served in Co. F, 10th IN Infantry. On 25 Nov 1862, David applied - application 4843, Certificate 10901. On 24 Jun 1865, Elizabeth applied - application 99541, Certificate 89243.
In a Family Tree on Ancestry, there is an image of part of a handwritten letter written signed by Elizabeth Hume, but not written by her.
"The following are the names & dates of birth of each & all of the children of said deceased to wit - Mary A. Hume born on the 14 day of April 1842; William F. Hume born on the 26 day of May 1858, both of whom reside with their mother in said County of Marion, State of Indiana ....hereby appoints B. F. Witt of Indianapolis her true & lawful attorney"

In 1880, I believe she was living with William F. Hume and his wife Hattie - likely her son.
William was age 22. Hattie, 20. Elizabeth Hume's age 50, mother.

The manuscript from the Lebanon Library states that William F. Hume's wife was Hattie Gardner. There was also a daughter named - Mary Alice, who married Denny Long - apparently this was Mary A. Long, later Lewis, seen below.

Indiana Deaths, 1882-1920. Elizabeth Hume, age 81, died 9 Aug 1910, Alexandria.

Her Indiana death certificate posted in Ancestry family tree. Died of paralytic stroke, Aug 9, 1910. She was born 3 Oct 1824 in Marion Co IN, and was widowed. Husband was David Hume, no parents given. Mrs. Edward Lewis was the informant and she was buried on August 11th, IOOF Cemetery in Alexandria.

Mrs. Elizabeth Hume Passed Away At Daughter's Home
After an extended illness from the infirmities of old age, Mrs. Elizabeth Hume, 81 years of age died at 10 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Lewis, 307 South West Street. The funeral will be from the Lewis home at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, burial following in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
Mrs. Hume was the widow of the late David Hume, and spent her childhood at Zionsville. Later she removed to Indianapolis, where she was a resident until she came five years ago to make her home with her daughter here. She has no other children, but is survived by one brother, Chas. Harmon of Brownsburg, Ind., one sister Mrs. Philadelphia Swain, of Paducah, Ky, who were present at her death, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
For sixty years she has been a member of the Methodist church, recently transferring her membership to the church here, and her local pastor, Rev. L. M. Krider, will deliver the funeral discourse.

Mrs. Elizabeth Hume, 81 years old, died Tuesday of last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Lewis, in Alexandria, of the infirmities of old age. She was a resident of Indianapolis and Zionsville, and will be remembered by the older residents of this place.
