Joseph and Sarah Pray were first cousins once removed.

Genealogies of RI Families gives the lineage of Joseph Brown as shown here. The Chad Brown Memorial Book states that Joseph Brown was a son of Henry & Waite Waterman Brown but the following deeds show that book is in error.

Joseph resided at Newport, Westerly, Kingstown, Attleborough, Mass. and Glocester.
21 Jan 1709/10 Rehoboth [Mass] Proprietors' Records, Book 1, p.346. 100 acres of land at Attleborough were recorded to Joseph Brown of Kingstown, son of Jeremiah Brown.
In 1714, Joseph Brown of Attlborough, County of Bristol, son of Mr. Jeremiah Brown late of Newport deceased, conveyed to John Bullock, 200 acres in west part of Swansea bounded west on the salt water bay which runs up to Providence [Taunton Deeds, Book 8, p.720]
Also in 1714, Joseph Brown received a deed from his brother John of Newport.
31 Mar 1716, bounds were set forth on the lands of Joseph Brown, son of Jeremiah [Rehoboth Proprietors' Records, Book 1, p. 243]

The article "Chad Browne and His Descendants" which appeared in NEHGR in 1926, lists Joseph in this place in the family, but gives no year of birth.

Will dated 2 Feb 1764 and proved 21 Mar 1764. Named wife Hannah. Sons Stephen, Benjamin, Joseph and Abraham. Daughters, Deborah Comstock, Sarah Phillips, Anne Whipple, Martha Fernon [Farnum - her 2nd husband], Amey Ballou, Abigail, Phebe, and Lillas. Grandchildren, Amey Smith and Joseph Whipple.
