I find no proof that this particular Isaac Dodson went to Pittsylvania Co VA, although the Dodson book does identify him as the likely Isaac Dodson found there.

An Isaac Dodson appeared on a tax list in Orange Co NC in 1755

Isaac Dodson purchased 400 acres, both sides Sandy Creek, Pittsylvania Co VA from Charles & Hester Little, in 1767.

In the back of Pittsylvania DB 6 are recorded a few court records of 28 Aug 1767.

Isaac Dodson is appointed Surveyor of the Road from Fall Creek to Sandy River. He with his former Gang and all other hands Convenient to the said road do clear & keep the same in repair according to Law.

25 Nov 1768, Jennet Dodson qualified as executor of Isaac's estate.

There was a patent to Isaac Dodson, 16 Mar 1771, 194 acres in Halifax Co. This would seem to indicate Joshua was the heir-at-law of Isaac - his son but not necessarily his only son.
