Buried in Elmo Cemetery. Texas Death Index: has her death as August 25, which is also on her death certificate. Daughter Lois had written down her death as 23 August, but that was the date of her anniversary. Daughter Juanita Deatherage was the informant for the death certificate. Carrie died of a heart attack, was hospitalized four days at Colonial Hospital in Terrell, Texas. Her parents were listed as Will Fry and Viola Higginbotham.

Last Rites Held for Mrs. Pippin
Mrs. Carrie D. Pippin, resident of Elmo, died in a Terrell hospital early Sunday morning. Funeral services were held from the Anderson-Clayton Chapel at 4:00 p.m. tuesday with the Rev. Robert Baldridge and the Rev. Lee Furrh officiating. Interment was in the Elmo cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Carrie Dove Pippin was born in Fannin County, Texas, on July 14, 1896. She spent most of her life in and near Ladonia before moving to Terrell and Elmo three years ago.
She was a member of the Baptist Church.
She was married to J. F. Pippin on August 23, 1914, and to this union four children were born. Surviving her are: her husband, James F. Pippin, Sr. of Elmo; one son, James F. Pippin Jr. of Antlers, Oklahoma; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Haden of Springdale, Arkansas, Mrs. Jack Deatherage of Elmo, Mrs. Dick Raedel (Roedel) of Evergreen, Colorado; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. W. L. Dillard of Ladonia; a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
