Remarks from the 1928 Bible transcription, placed in quotes and probably not from the Bible, follow:
"Richard Bibb was a Captain in the Revolutionary War & Member of the Legislature of Virginia and of Kentucky.
William Bibb [his brother] moved to Georgia from Virginia and was the Father of William & Thos. Bibb. William was Senator of U.S. from Georgia and afterwards Governor of Alabama.
Thos. was also Governor of Alabama. [I believe this is the son of William]
John B. Bibb was a Major in the War of 1812, Representative & Senator in the KY Legislature from Logan Co 1828, 1829, 1831, 1832, 1833, and 1835.
[Richard Bibb Sr] was an educated man & a successful farmer and business man. He was a local Preacher in the Methodist Church and strongly advocated in several pamphlets & newspapers, in his latter days, a reform in Church government, so as to have a Lay delegation. This has since been effected.
Descendants of Jas. Bibb & John Bibb are scattered about the U. States - some in Kentucky."

Written in T.P.Atticus Bibb Family Record which appears in Kentucky Ancestors with the bible record of Rev. Richard Bibb is the following:
"My grandfather Richard Bibb was a Virginia and was educated for the ministry in the Episcopal Church. On coming to Kentucky and finding few or no churches and the ministry in the state abandoning the church, one by fighting a duel, the other by corruption and bribery, he joined the Methodist Church and entered the pulpit. He died a Methodist at age 86. He was a man of fortune. He emancipated all his slaves and gave them lands in Ky. and Illinois."

Kentucky Historical Marker, Eighth & Winter Sts., Russellville, US 431
Bibb, a Revolutionary War soldier, was born in Va. in 1752. He came to Lexington, Kentucky, in 1798; moved to Logan Co. the next year where he built Bibb's Chapel. Later, erected this house for his wife. Maj. Bibb freed 29 of his slaves in 1829 and sent them to Liberia. He died in 1839, and his will provided for the release of his other slaves and gave them land.
