There is land record in an Ancestry database, incomplete, dated 6 Apr 1762 in Falmouth, apparently within Spotsylvania Co. It was originally published in "Virginia County Records - Spotsylvania County, 1721-1800, Volum I" by William Armstrong Crozier.

John Semple of King & Queen Co, surviving partner of Robert. Baylor, Gent., dec'd, and the said John Semple, late Merchants and partners, and Elizabeth his wife sell a tenement and store known by named of New Market and 400 acres in St. George Parish, Spotsylvania Co, to Wm Cunningham of Falmouth, John Stuart of Fredricksburg and Alexander Cunningham of ___

Their son John served in the Revolutionary War and drew his pension; his widow Margaret Hill Cunningham continued the pension as his widow. He stated in his application that he was born 1758. Margaret stated his death as 7 Dec 1844.

From book "Virginia Militia in the Revolution" by J.T. McAllister:John Cunninham born 1758 and applied 21 Aug 1832 (same date as Rev.Pens. states) Enlisted May 1776 in Militia Co. under Capt. Charles Allen, Lt. Joseph Parks and Ensign James Allen. Marched by Manchester, Williasburg & Yorktown to Hampton where he was stationed under Col. Meredith and Maj. James. Discharged at Portsmouth after term of 7 1/2 months. In May 1779 volunteered under Capt. John Holcomb, serving 3 weeks at Petersburg. In Sept 1780 volunteered in Capt. Charles Allen's company of 1st Reg. and after 3 months was given honorable discharge. Stationed at Petersburg und. Col. E. Meade and Beverly Randolph. Early 1781 volunteered under Capt. Andrew Baker, Lt. Josep Parks and Ens. Joseph Read and joined G. Greene near Dan River where the company was attached to regiment under Co. Otho H. Williams. Marched towards Hillsboro. Skirmish at Whitsell's Mill Mar 6th where Lt. Parks & private Ezekiel Parks wounded. Company discharged after one month. May 1781 volunteered under Capt. Richard Hilland and served 2 or 3 weeks being employed in conducting British prisoners from P.E. Court House to Albemarle Barracks. Has always lived in Prince Edward Co.

Prince Edward Co. Will Book
I, John M. Cunningham of the Co. of Prince Edward and state of Virginia, being of extreme old age and affllicted, but of sound mind, declare the following to be my last will and testament, viz.
First, it is my will and desire that my wife hold and manage with the aide and counsel of my executors all my estate real and personal during her life.
Second, It is my will and desire that as soon after the death of my wife as the situation of the farm will admit, that all my estate real and personal be sold and after the payment of all my just debts, the residue be equally divided among the living heirs of my body except such inequality between my sons Josiah & Newton as shall be expressed and explained in the third article of this will.
Art. 3rd: It is my will and desire that so much of my son Josiah's portion of my estate as may be necessary to refund to my son Newton a certain amount of money vis ($583) five hundred and eighty three dollars which he paid for Josiah as security on a deliver bond in favor of William M. Carter as signee of Tho____ & Scott with interest from the first day of January 1843 be retained in the hands of my executors and paid over to Newton and the residue if any there be shall be paid over to Josiah as though this article had not been in the will.
Art. 4th : It is my will and desire that my son Newton and my son-in-law Samuel F. Hunt execute this will.

At a court held for Prince Edward Co. January 20, 1845, this last will and testament of John M. Cunningham, dec'd, was presented in court and proved by the oath of Isaac Cochran a witness thereto. At a court held for said county February 17, 1845, the last will and testament of John M. Cunningham dec'd was again presented in court and further proved by the oath of John N. Drinkard, a witness thereto. Ordered that the same be recorded. On the motion of Newton Cunningham, executor herein named, he with William Baker and Samuel F. Hunt his securites entered into and acknowledged their bond for the purpose in the penalty of twelve thousand dollars conditioned as conditioned according to law & took the oath required by law. Certificate fo obtaining and probate thereof in due form is granted to them.

Deed Book 25, p. 176"Samuel H. Cunningham & Henrietta, his wife, of Campbell Co.; William Matthews & Margaret, his wife, of Appomattox Co; Josiah Cunningham and Mary, his wife; Benjamin Baldwin & Sally, his wife; Daniel C. Glenn & Rebecca, his wife; Samuel F. Hunt and Matilda, his wife; William B.Baker and Eliza, his wife; all of Prince Edward Co. Adam C. Mcelroy & Jane, his wife, of the county of Rutherford & state of TN, sell Newton Cunningham of Prince Edward Co. 295 acres adjoining the land of Matthew Carter, John Morton, Isaac Cochoran. $1200 All heirs signed except Jane.
In Sept. 1846, Jane Cunningham McElroy signed a document in TN relinquishing her interest in the property of her father and conveying title to her brother, Newton. The document states in part "....inconsideration of the sum of $133.33 paid by said Newton Cunningham,.....all my undivided interest in the tract of land whereon my father John Cunningham lived at the time of his death, which tract of land is situate in the said county of Prince Edward and bounded and adjoining the land of John Morton, Mathew Carter and others, containing about 294 acres...."
