Honey Grove - Funeral services for Sue Wishard, age 54, of Honey Grove, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2001, at Oak Ridge Church of Christ. Mr. Larry Wishard and Mr. Sammy Dobbs officiated. Burial was held in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Wishard passed away March 21, 2001, at McCuistion Hospital in Paris.
She was born on November 14, 1946, in the Dial Community, the daughter of William Raymond Thurman and Ollie Mae West. She married Ronald Wishard on February 22, 1966. Mrs. Wishard was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Ridge Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Wishard of Oak Ridge Community; granddaughter, Jayce Wishard; step-grandchildren, Brittany and Justen Gowens; six brothers, Bill Thurman of Honey Grove, Johnny Thurmanof Honey Grove, George Thurman of Honey Grove, Mack Thurman of Savoy, Gene Thurman of Savoy and Charles Thurman of Euless; two sisters, Jo Wheless of Irving and Annell Ball of Garland; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jason Wishard; three sisters; two brothers; and special mother-in-law, Joyce "Meme" Wishard.
The family received friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral HOme in Honey Grove.
Active pallbearers were Todd Thurman, Emery Banker, David Reece, John Arthur Smith, Robert Wayne Milton and Danny Wishard. Honorary pallbearers were Harvey Lynn Milton, Jeff Smith, Tim Houston and Steve Thurman.
