In another place, I have seen this Ann's name as Ann Besson, daughter of Nicholas & Diana Besson.

The Caswell County database has this note:
Note that the Graves Family Association maintains that the wife of Thomas Slade (1722-1798) (and the mother of Ann (Nancy) Slade) was Anne Talbot. However, many Slade family researchers believe that the second wife of Thomas Slade (1722-1798) and the mother of Nancy Slade was Hannah Miles (1728-1813). Note that the 1798 will of Thomas Slade refers to "wife Hannah." Also note the 1748 Baltimore County, Maryland marriage record (Thomas Slade and Hannah Miles). Thus, we believe the wife of Thomas Slade (1722-1798) and the mother of eleven of his children (including the Nancy Slade who married John Herndon Graves) was Hannah Miles (1728-1813).
