John Riley Myers

Lt. Col. John R. Myers with NATO in Florence, Italy, died suddenly from an apparent heart attack on March 28, 1978.
Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday, April 5th at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Honey Grove with Father Mike, Chaplain of Carswell AFB and the Rev. Don Bourland, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Honey Grove, officiating. Burial was to be made in Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove with military services.
Myers was born at Honey Grove on November 21, 1931, the son of L. E. Myers and Lucille Wishard Myers, who survive.
He was married to Maria Villalba on December 7, 1957, at West Palm Beach, Florida.
He was a Lt. Col. in the U.S.A.F. He had served in the Air Force for twenty-six years and had been in Italy twenty months. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maria Myers; one son, John G. Myers; one daughter, Deborah A. Myers, all of Naples, Italy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Myers of Honey Grove; one brother, Don Myers of Dallas.
