1820 Tax List Logan Co shows Daniel Comfort with 243 acres on the Red River in Simpson Co, also several acres in grass. He has 3 slaves over 16 and 1 horse. James Comfort was entered next to Daniel with only a mark for white male over 21. By 1830 no Comforts are on the Tax List. The 1820 Census shows Daniel with 2m -10; 1m 16-18; 1m 18-26 [James?]; 1m 26-45 [Daniel] and 2f under 10; 1f 16-26 [Martha Ann]
James Comfort apparently married Jane Smith before 1824. Suit for settlement of estate of John R. Smith filed 21 Jul 1824. Marriage record in Logan Co on 12 Dec 1820.
Daniel Comfort had a Survey, Book F, p.51 of 50 acres on the Muddy River in Logan Co KY, 27 Mar 1827.
D. Comfort was one of the appraisers of the estate of William Perkins 5 Nov 1827.

In 1850 in Hinds Co MS, George W. and Mary E. were still at home with Rev. Comfort. He gave his occupation as School Teacher, although in 1834 in the obituary of his wife, he was said to be President of Mississippi College.
