Bounty Land Warrant #26948. John McClean, son, & other heirs of Jas. McClean, Private, 17th Infantry. Late a private in the company commanded by Capt Saunders of the 17th Regt US Inf. Entitle to 160 acres of land. 27 Oct 1837. Legal description of land in Section 25N, Range 3W in Arkansas.
Mary McClean, widow of James McClean, dec'd, made oath that her husband departed this life at Fort Maldin. She does not recollect the particular date. The children are John McClean, Thomas McClean, Emily McClean, Eliza McClean, and Thomas McClean [entered twice] The said Eliza has since departed this left leaving two children Sarah and William.
