∼
Leannah was the daughter of Carter and Eady Jane Skinner Lakes. She married Fielding Isaacs on Nov. 18, 1852 in Estill Co., KY. Not much is known about Fielding other than he had four children Samuel Lester born on Oct. 20, 1853, William b. Apr. 28, 1855 death before 1860, Godfrey L. b. Apr. 5, 1857, and Elizabeth b. Dec. 8, 1858 all in KY.
Fielding passed away on Dec. 30, 1858 in Jackson Co., KY. of consumption and Leannah remarried Shelton Harrison (FAG #9067352) some time after. I think it could have been around 1865 with Shelton and Leannah's first child born in Feb. 1867.
Shelton had first married Angelina Gray on Nov. 7/8, 1855 in Madison Co., KY. They had three or four children Sarah (Sallie) A. b. Oct/Nov. 16, 1856, John C. b. Mar. 2, 1858 found living in Jackson Co., KY. 1930, and Hiram H. b. Apr. 3, 1860 who married Susan Collinsworth. The only child in question was Lafayette b. Apr. 1862 married Edy Jane Lakes. I know that Angeline was living in 1860 when the census was taken. She may have died in child birth with Lafayette. I have found it mentioned that Sheldon had several girl friends and Lafayette might have been born to one of them. So the father is known, but not the mother at this time. I did find on Lafayette's memorial that a flower had been placed saying Lafayette was the child of John B. Harrison and Sarah Brockman. That is not the case since Sarah passed away in 1855.
Leannah had more children with Shelton and in the 1900 census she said she had 10 children all living, but that would be incorrect if William died young. All children listed in the 1870 census with the last name of Harrison, but Samuel, Godfrey, and Elizabeth were actually Isaacs. The following were children of Leannah and Shelton: Mary Jane b. Feb. 1867 married Patrick Reece/Reese; Nellie b. Oct. 1869 married James Alcorn, and died Apr. 1, 1931; Edy Phebe b. abt. 1871; Armilda b. 1873 married James T. Cook; Josiah Joseph b. Aug. 1875,and Shelton b. Dec. 1879.
There is a second memorial for Leannah, which is #9067368. I have left this memorial because of all the extra information I have found. The more recent headstone gives her date of birth as 1836, but she said Jul. 1834 in the 1900 census. The new headstone puts her date of death between 1903 and 1910.
