20 Oct 1764 John Millikin and Mary his wife of Halifax to Blake Baker of the same for 500#'s sell a tract of land in Halifax containing 230 acres, the land & plantation whereon John Millikin now lives and conveyed to him by Paul Patrick & Agnes his wife by deed dated 19 May 1752 which was conveyed to John Millikin by the name of John Joyner and one other deed by Ann Richmond to the said John Milliken, dated 15 Feb 1762, being the land & plantation whereon Col. For 450#'s sell those two messuages and tracts of land in Halifax containing 420 in the whole. 320 acres being the Walnut Fort plantation divided by the last Will & Testament of Col. Barnaby McKinnie deceased, to his daughter Christian, mother of the said Mary in fee tail which was Docked by an act of Assembly and by fee simple vested in Blake Baker and the said Mary while she was sole. The other 100 acres being part of the Tract whereon William Hurst formerly lived which he sold to William Little, the upper side of the Walnut Fort planation and which Hurst reserved out of the tract he sold and whereon William Richmond lived and died seized of. For 300#'s current money of Virginia in gold and silver coin, sell tract of land in Halifax containing 200 acres which was conveyed to Barnaby McKinnie, son of William McKinnie by deed from Barnaby McKinnie, grandfather to the sd Barnaby son of William with limitations ever in case of death of said Barnaby the grandson without full issue then to the said Mourning in fee simple. Ordered that a commission in Isle of Wight take the relinquishment of Morning Coupland. 5 Sep 1765 - Isle of Wight Co. Nicholas Parker & John Zak Wills examined Mourning wife of said Joseph Coupland and she relinquished dower.

Jury consisted of William Pierce, James Atkins/Atkinson, William Pope, Gideon Goodwin, Tobias Whitehead, John Fort, John Moor, Joseph ?Weaver, Luke Pryor, Nicholas Dilliard, Matthew Rayburn, Thos. Motley and Thos. Gatewood, They determined the value to be 40#'s 8 sh, Sterling. Before Jeremiah Nelms, Esq, Sub Sheriff of Halifax Co.
1 Aug 1767 John Geddy & Patience his wife of the town of Halifax and county of Halifax to Blake Baker of the same County. Col. Barnaby McKinnie late of the county of Edgecomb was at the time of his death possessed of a tract of land of 300 acres in Halifax, formerly Edgecomb, did by his last Will dated 13 Aug 1737, devised the same to his son Richard McKinnie in fee tail. Richard is dead without lawful issue and the said John McKinnie [his brother] being also dead leaving issue the said Patience, Mary the wife of Nicholas Long and Martha McKinnie who are vested in the 300 acres in fee tail as co-heirs. The said John Geddy & Patience his wife, Nicholas Long and Mary his wife, and Martha by Joseph Montfort her guardian have made partition of the 300 acres joining on the Roanoke River, 150 yards above Bakers Mill Landing. John Geddy & Patience are possessed of the lower part of the 300 acres and valued by inquisition (see above). Sell to Baker for 40#'s 8sh Sterling money of Great Britian. Signed John Giddy, Patience Giddy in presence of Montfort Eelbeck, Daniel Pointer. Acknowledge by John and Patience relinquished dower. John Geddy signed that he received the payment, 1 Aug 1767.
