Dana, IN - December 19, 1893
Abe Wishard committed suicide this morning by hanging.
Abe was a young man. He was not over 40 years of age and married. He has no children. He was in good circumstances, owning a fine farm west of Bono, and was one third owner of the trotter "Tecoma". He was born and raised in this county. He was not addicted to strong drink and was never known to have any domestic troubles.
He had been complaining of sleeplessness and pains in the back of his head for sometime past. Just a week before he said to a friend that he felt well but couldn't sleep. His mind was clearly deranged.
The funeral exercises were held at the Bono Church, Thursday at 10 o'clock a.m., Rev. J.E. Wright officiating. After the funeral ceremonies, his body was followed to the Bono Cemetery by a large concourse of people, where he was laid away to smoulder into kindred dust.
