Individual Details

As with most members of this family, the proof that the Rebecca married to William Jameson is indeed the Rebecca, daughter of William Brown & Elizabeth Halsted, is circumstantial. In 1850, William Jameson & Rebecca, with 5 children, several too old to be hers, live next door to Ezekiel Brown and his family. Her descendants have long understood her maiden name to have been Brown, and that she was born in Missouri.

1880 Benton Co AR, Rebecca E. Jameson, mother-in-law was living with Joel Russell. She was born in MO, her father born SC, her mother born TN.
After William Jameson died, Rebecca stayed in Benton Co AR for awhile, but in the mid 1880's she went to Oregon or Washington with some of her children. In the 1880 Benton Co AR census, Rebecca was living with her daughter Rebecca Russell. Before 1900 she had returned to Sebastian Co AR where she was living with her youngest daughter, Laura Flowerseed.
