William Harris

Capt. William Harris, of Hanover resdied in the Forks of the Pamunkey River at the plantation, Cedar Hil. He was a justice of the peace and a vestryman in both St. Paul's Parish and St. Martin's Parish. He had a son William Harris, Junior.
Another William Harris is found in the record of Hanover but he was a Willia, son of Maj. William Harris of Henrico County.
He first appears in the record, 28 Jan 1706.. By 1716 he was elecested vestryman, St. Paul's.
He married Temperance, daughter of William Overton and Elizabeth Waters, about 1695.
Temperance died at Cedar Hill and her grave marker is there - she died 19 Feb 1716.
Capt. William died prior to 1733 when his son Benjamin Harris conveyed to Robert Harrs (his brother?) land devised to him by his deceased father, William Harris.
There are seven patents issued to William Harris, detailed in this article for about 2000 acres.
