John Hays (Paw Paw) Kilgore, born December 14, 1925, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 8, 1999, at the age of 73 years. He was a native of Van Buren, Arkansas, former resident of Sweeny and lived in San Antonio for the past six months.
Mrs. Kilgore was a life member of VFW Post #8551 in Sweeny, member of the 486th Bomb Group Association, Inc., and a member of the Air Force Gunners Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James H. Kilgore and Clara Vivian (Hays) Kilgore; and brother, James William Kilgore.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Betty Kilgore of San Antonie; son, James W. (Jim) Kilgore and wife, Debbie of Andrews; daughter Donna K. Deuvall and husband, Bobby of Floresville; sisters, Betty Jo Wilmot of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Donna K. Talley and husband, Dewey of Pryor, Oklahoma, brother, Robert E. (Bob) Kilgore and wife Beth of Coodrich; grandchildren, Kristi Shannon Kilgore of Lubbock, and Shelby and Ryan Deuvall of Floresville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
