Weatherford -- Betty Jean Canon, 71, passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Betty was born Oct. 4, 1937, in Louisville, Ky., to Gladys and Glen Johnson. She was the oldest of 16 children. She was an avid bingo player. Betty was a retired caregiver. She was a beloved wife, mother and mamaw who had a giving spirit and will be missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Shah and the ICU staff at Harris NW in Azle for their loving care and to Jeri Dillard for being such a great friend.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Survivors: Husband, Marshall L. Canon; son, James Stewart Jr.; daughter, Onis Ann Dalton and husband, Rodney; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six brothers; six sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
