Benton County News...
While out driving last Sunday afternoon, Mrs. Will Vandover and Mrs. Ernest Musselman narrowly escaped a serious accident. While crossing the track immediately south of the eating house, their horse became frightened at the escaping steam from a locomotive on the main track and commenced to shy and started at a rapid rate across the tracks. When the buggy struck the east side track, Mrs. Vandover and her little baby were thrown out but fortunately neither were seriously hurt. She was driving at the time and when she was thrown out the lines went with her, leaving Mrs. Musselman and her little baby in the buggy without any source of checking the horse, but he had not gone far until Neil Nye stopped him. It was a close call and the ladies feel mightly glad it was no worse. -Rogers Republican
