I'll check out Wynnewood on the map. TJ> immediate ly. Howeve r, I recognize it as a section of Lower Merion TJ> Tow nship, wh ich lies next to Philadelphia but in Montgomery County. Right . I kne w that from the description of the good doctor's life and time s, writte n by a couple of his descendants. One ofhis descendants, John W ynne, st ill lives in Philadelphia and he sent me a (poor) copy of a re altor's a dvertisement of Wynnewood that showed the home-- but no descr iption tha t would make it a $300,000 home!!! Jonathan Wynne, Dr. Wynne 's only son , built Wynnewood. I believe it was a copy of Dr. Wynne's h ome in Wales , "Wynnestay." I have a copy of a Philadelphia map that sh ows whereDr. W ynne's home was just two doors from William Penn's home . I couldn't un derstand about the coast line. Did it change over the y ears? Or were t he homes actually set back from the water and over the y ears othe r homes were builtbetween them and the water line? Deems wrot e one of t he books on the WYNNEs.In it, he briefly mentioned a Philade lphia famil y, giving their line of descent from Dr. Wynne, but n ot anything e lse. This was 1907.Thomas Wynne; Hannah Wynne Humphreys; M artha Humphr eys Paschall; Hannah Paschall Hollingsworth; Mary Hollings worth Morris; L evi Morris; Sarah H. Morris (Mr. George); and Sarah's t hree unmarried c hildren, Mary, George Jr., and William. Would you know o f any of these p eople, perhaps their lineages in the Philadelphia Hist orical Society? It 's good talking to you, Thomas. I've never bee n to Philadelphia, s o everything is new to me.Cheers.
