Lime Springs Herald, Lime Springs, Iowa, Thursday, August 14, 1942, Page 1, Col. 5: Martin Medhaug Dies. Martin Medhaug died at his home in Cresco Friday morning, Aug. 14, 1942. He had been in poor health for a year and a half. Funeral services were held at the Sactersdal Lutheran church near York Monday afternoon and burial was in the cemetery there, Rev. F. Eide officiating. Mr. Medhuag, a native of Norway, came to Howard county, Ia., at the age of 19 years and had lived here most of the time since. He was 65 years old. He is survived by Mrs. Medhaug and their seven children: Howard who is with the U. S. armed forces at Bloomington, Ill.; Sanford living south of Cresco; Gene, Elnora and Bert at home; Mrs. Howard Minley who lives in New Oregon township and Mrs. Clifford Denny of Okaloosa. One daughter Elsie died in 1930 and one son died in infancy.
