Carpenter, age 86, of Blue River, died Wednesday evening May 27, 1987 in the Memorial Nursing Home in Boscobel. She was the former Helen Wilkinson, born February 1, 1901 in Muscoda. She was the daughter of James and Helen (Pond) Wilkinson. She was married to Clyde J. Carpenter, December 29, 1926. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1978. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Clyde J. (Beba) Carpenter of McFarland; two daughters, Mrs. John (Betsy) Berry, McFarland and Mrs. Jerry (Nell) Schell, Blue River; two brothers, Carter and Noble Wilkinson, both of Muscoda; four sisters, Mrs. Hobart (Bernice) Shird, LaFarge, Mrs. Joseph (June) Machotka, Mrs. Clarence (Janet) Donner, both of Lone Rock and Mrs. G. C. (Glory) Wichmann, Ridgeway; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, John Berry; a brother, Lyle Wilkinson; and two sisters, Aleen Butcher and Pauline Wilkinson. The funeral will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the United Methodist Church. Reverend Carson K. Culver will officiate. Burial will be in the Muscoda Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Godager Funeral Home in Blue River on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
