Obituary provided by the Grant County Genealogical Society: Miss Mildred Finney, 72, of Platteville, died Saturday, Apr. 5, 1975 at the Platteville Municipal Hospital. Miss Finney was born Jan. 27, 1903, in Platteville, She was a former resident of Madison. She was a beautician for several years and in 1952 she became a Dictaphone operator until 1968. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Madison and after moving to Platteville, she became a member of the United Methodist Church here. She was also a member of the Council Ring of Wisconsin (C.F.O.), a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 42 Leo M. Kane Post, and she belonged to the Madison-Monona Chapter of Number 5 Order of the Eastern Star. Miss Finney was president of the Bethany Group for one year. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Surviving are one niece, Mrs. Nancy Coole, on grand-niece, Amy Coole, two grand-nephews, Ricky and Jason Coole, all of Nashville, Tenn., and one sister-finney [sister-in-law Marel Finney] Platteville.
