Cedar Rapids Gazette, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Wednesday, March 1, 1978: Bess Kirkpatrick Carmody, 85, of 1559 Park Ave., SE, a Cedar Rapids resident most of her life, died Tuesday following a sudden illness. Mrs. Carmody was born Jan, 10, 1893, at Georgetown, Colo. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Services: 9 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church by the Rev. William P. Leonard. Burial: St. Clements Cemetery at Lancaster, Wis.; a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Turner Chapel East by Father Leonard. Friends may call at Turner East after 1 p.m. Thursday.
