Leona Beth Musil was born 12 March 1921 in Alma, Harland County, Nebraska. She married 29 September 1940, Holdrege, Nebraska, to Carroll Le Roi Falk, who was born 21 December 1917, Phelps County, Nebraska.

There were two (2) children born of the marriage.

Kearney Hub, Kearney, Nebraska, Saturday, March 29, 2014: Holdrege---Leona Beth Falk, 93, of Holdrege, formerly of Wilcox, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wilcox Community Church with the Rev. Craig Cedar officiating. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery in rural Axtell. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Monday at Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Wilcox with the family present from 6-7:30 p.m.

She was born March 12, 1921, in Alma. On Sept. 29, 1940, she married Carroll Falk. He died Sept. 30, 2012.

Survivors include her sons, Ron Falk and his wife, Carroll Jean, of Albion and Melvin Falk and his wife, Susan, of rural Wilcox; grandchildren, Tamera Gonzalez and her husband, Jose, of Albion, Andrew Falk and his wife, Monica, of Pleasanton, Douglas Falk and his wife, Lisa, of Plainville, Ill., Cindra Steinbach and her husband, Daniel, of St. Edward and Lynn Lebsack and her husband, Grant, and Karla Steele and her husband, Trent, all of Kearney; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Maynard Falk of Holdrege and Robert Falk and his wife, Doris, of Surprise, Ariz.; sisters-in-law, Joan Musil of Atwater, Calif., Ruth Falk of Lincoln and Glaura Falk of Beatrice; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She was the second of seven children raised by Edward E. and Helen L. (Moyer) Musil. She attended country schools at Alma and Hays Center. Leona later attended and graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1938.

Two sons were born to her union with Carroll: Ronald LeRoi and Melvin Edward. In 1945, Leona and the boys moved to Baltimore where Carroll was stationed in the service. Following his return, they resided in Wilcox, where Carroll and Leona operated Falk's Produce and later Falk's Texaco Service Station. In 1962, Leona started working for Hested's Department Stores in Holdrege and Minden until her retirement in 1975. On Sept. 29, 2012, the couple celebrated their 72nd anniversary just before Carroll's death.

Leona was a devoted member of Wilcox Community Church, Gideons International Auxiliary-Holdrege Camp, Wilcox Women's Chamber of Commerce, Wilcox Lioness Club and was a past secretary and past president of the National Postmasters Auxiliary.

In her free time, Leona enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, including making garments for her family, and traveling in the United States and abroad to Venezuela. She enjoyed hosting many family and friends at the family home, the "Falk Hilton."

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, George Lyons; sister, Iris Parks and her husbands, Henry Broman and Sid Parks; brothers, Roy Wehland and his wife, Arlene, Kenneth Musil and his wives, Doris, Ermil and Lorrine, John Musil and his wife, Lillian, Andrew Musil in infancy and David Musil; sister-in-law, Beulah Falk; and brothers-in-law, Orville Falk and Dale Falk.
