Burlington Hawk Eye, Burlington, Iowa, January 10, 1991, Page 9, Col. 2: James (Willie) Berry, 89, of Bettendorf, formerly of Lowell, died at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 1991, at St. Luke's Hospital in Davenport. Born Sept. 12, 1901, in Lowell, he was the son of Myron and Josephine Duke Berry. He married Bernice Kirkpatrick Oct. 30, 1929, in Mount Pleasant. She died Oct. 27, 1984. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are one son, Marvin L. Berry of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Hampton of Bettendorf; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Elliott Chapel in New London. The service for Mr. Berry will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Elliott Chapel in New London with the Rev. Robert Dodds officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
