Obituary in Herald-Democrat 21 May 1931: Mrs. Emma Temple dies, Tuesday at Hunt Town. Mrs. Emma Temple, age 72, pioneer resident of Johnson county, died at her home at Hunt Town, 16 miles west of Clarksville, Tuesday morning at 10:30 after several weeks illness. Funeral services were conducted at Harmony Wednesday morning at 10:30 with Rev. E. H. Hook, pastor of the First Methodist church conducting the service. Burial was made in the Harmony cemetery beside her husband, Lee Temple, who died twenty-two years ago. Mrs. Temple was born at Lamar and had spent her entire life in Johnson county, a member of one of the county's oldest families. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church and attended all its services when her health permitted her to do so. She is survived by three daughters Mrs. J. G. Harmon and Mrs. Harve Wilson of Clarksville, and Miss Gertrude Temple of Hunt Town; by two sons, T. W. Temple of Hartman and R. C. Temple of this city. She is also survived by eight grand children.
