Wooldridge, 54, of 1801 Green Berry Rd., died Friday, at a St. Joseph hospital following an apparent heart attack. Mr. Wooldridge was widely known in Missouri for his work in wildlife photography. His photographs had been included in the Missouri Conservationist magazine for 28 years. He was a frequent contributor to many national magazines. He was co-author of a book, "World of the Oppossum,"(sic) published in 1967. He was a monthly contributor to "Outdoor Life" Magazine for the last nine years. His photographs have appeared in most major outdoor magazines and in many books. He was a long-time member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America. Mr. Wooldridge joined the Missouri Department of Conservation in 1949 after a two-year period as a news photographer with the Lebanon Daily Record. A native of Springfield, Mr. Wooldridge was born Nov. 21, 1923. He graduated from Springfield Senior High School with the class of 1941. He attended the Curtiss-Wright Technical School in Glendale, Calif., for one year before joining the Army Air Force in 1942 during World War II. He served as a pilot, flying out of North Africa. Following the war, he attended Southwest Missouri State College at Springfield for three terms, then began work in a photo studio. Survivors include his wife and three daughters. Funeral arrangements under direction of the Sassman Funeral Home, Belle are incomplete.

Wooldridge, 54, of 1801 Green Berry Rd., died Friday at a St. Joseph hospital following an apparent heart attack. He was born Nov. 21, 1923, at Springfield, the son of Thomas E. and Ethel Wooldridge, who survive at Springfield. He was married to Jane Wooldridge who survives at the home. Mr. Wooldridge was widely known in Missouri for his work in wildlife photography, which has appeared in the Missouri Conservationist magazine for 28 years. His photographs have appeared in most major outdoor magazines and in many books. He was co-author of one book, "World of the Oppossum,(sic)" and was a monthly contributor to "Outdoor Life," magazine.

He was graduated from the Springfield public schools and attended the Curtis-Wright Technical School in Glendale, Calif., for one year before entering the Army Air Force in World War II. Following the war, he attended Southwest Missouri state College, Springfield before beginning work in a photo studio. He joined the Missouri Department of conversation in 1949 after working two years for the Lebanon Daily Record. Mr. Wooldridge was a member of the Outdoor Writers association of America, the Central Christian Church in Springfield, the Missouri Prairie Foundation and the Sierra Club. Other survivors include: Three daughters, Mrs. Ann Liva, Chicago, Mrs. Sue McGeehan, Ripley, Tenn., and Mrs. Barbara Schaeffer and one brother, Dr. Wilfred Wooldridge, Springfield. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Church of Christ, Jefferson City. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Prairie Foundation.
