Ward, president of the Benton State bank, died here today from injuries sustained in a fall from a silo on his farm early this morning. Ward was 40 [50] years old, and had served as president of his bank for several years. The Benton State bank is the oldest bank in this county and was founded by William R. Ward, father of the man who died today. Ward owned one of the best farms in the county and specialized in dairy products. He had gone to the farm early today as was his custom to make his daily inspection and was climbing an outside ladder to the silo when he lost his balance and fell thirty feed to the ground. He died in a local hospital three hours later.
