Obituary from Franklin Co., Area newspaper, dated December 10, 1968: Funeral Rites Wednesday for Terzie Ward, 88. Mrs. Terzie Kirkpatrick Ward, 88, of 305 West Church Street, Benton, widow of Robert R. Ward, died at 12:45 p. m. Monday in the Franklin Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit. Mrs. Ward was a lifetime resident of Franklin County and the daughter of the late Ruben and Martha Penny Kirkpatrick. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Domestic Art Club. Survivors include two sons Russell D. of Benton and Leroy G. of Decatur; three daughters Mrs. Webb Johnson of Benton, Mrs. Charles McCollum of Puerto Rico and Mrs. Robert Doer of Rockford; a sister Mrs. Beulah Pope of Long Beach Calif., a brother, Olin P. Kirkpatrick of Hinsdale, and 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A son, William R., preceded her in death. The body is lying in state at the Poulson-Freeman Funeral Home in Benton where Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. William Bohn will officiate. Interment will follow in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery at Benton.
