Anna Kirkpatrick was born 29 July 1872 in Fredericksburg, Texas. She married Phillip Sheridan Jewell on 9 July 1891. He was the son of Thomas Jewell of Mercer, Pennsylvania and Mary Clark (Young) Jewell. Phillip Sheridan Jewell was born 11 June 1867 in Pennsylvania and died 20 July 1935 in Riverside County, California. He had a number of occupations including farmer, carpenter, preacher, and retired from the U.S. Post Office's rural carrier service.

There were seven (7) children born of the marriage.
