Jethro Martin

(1859 - Jul 1896)

Posted at findagrave.com by Beth Martin, Contributor #47486969. Jethro Martin was awaiting trial for the patricide of his father, Thomas Martin, but was deemed too ill to stand trial. He was removed to this hospital so he could recover, but he never did, and passed away from natural causes.

The murder was highly sensationalized and easily provable, and his remaining siblings did their best to distance themselves from him, and as such I strongly doubt he is buried anywhere other than here. Given the lack of burial records for this location I can only prove by exclusion. If burial records are found for any other Jethro Martin who died 1896 Audrain Co, MO, I will remove this memorial.

[There is a long version of Jethro's life and his crime at findagrave.com but this is posted so anyone who wishes can read further about him].
