Frances "Fanny" Martin

Posted at findagrave.com: Fanny was born 3 June 1856, at Ruffs Creek, Greene Co., Pennsylvania, to Thomas and Ellen Moore Martin. When a young school teacher, she moved with her parents to Martinsburg, Missouri, where she continued to teach until her marriage to Elmus Cary, of Dunns Station, on 26 Feb 1878. After her marriage, she returned to the Dunns Station community and lived the remainder of her life on the farm on which she died, on 24 March, 1924. At the time of her death, she left her husband and the following children: Mrs. W. B. Reed, of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Clark Miller, of Amity; and Wilbur, of Dunns Station; as well as a sister, Mrs. Emma Willburn of Mexico, Missouri. She had been a member of the Amity M.E. church since her marriage. Rev. A. C. Biles, pastor of the Amity church conducted the services. Interment was in the Amity cemetery.
