Posted at newspaperarchive.com: HOLT, THOMAS KENNETH Feb. 25, 1912 to Nov. 19, 2010 Thomas Kenneth Ken Holt, 98, of Cardiff, CA, formerly of Riverside, IL, died November 19, 2010, at Aviara Healthcare Center in Encinitas, CA. Ken was preceded in death by wife, Evelyn Mary Holt, nee Ingels; parents, Thomas and Ruth Holt; and brother, Paul Holt (Betty). He is survived by children Christine Craig (David), Alan Holt (Diana) and grand-daughters, Ryann and Sarah. Ken majored in journalism at the University of Illinois. He served in WWII as an interpretor and radio operator in Europe and North Africa. He was employed for over 45 years by Life Newspapers as an advertising salesman. Ken was a longtime member of the Riverside Presbyterian Church. He served in many capacities including Deacon and Elder and sang in the choir. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed singing in a barbershop quartet group. The family is planning a memorial service to be held in Riverside, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Published in The San Diego Union Tribune on Nov. 29, 2010.
