Oregon Kirkpatrick was born November 1844 in Wisconsin. He married Flora Pettyjohn, daughter of Garrison and Martha A. (Woodall) Pettyjohn, 27 November 1873 at Mifflin, Wisconsin. Flora was born in Wisconsin in September 1855. Oregon, at the time of his marriage was a farmer living in Liberty, Wisconsin. He later moved his family to Minnesota and is found in the 1900 and 1910 censuses living in Manfred Township, Lac Qui Parle County, in the western part of that state. They had at least three children. Our only record of Oregon's children is from the 1900 census and the 1910 census and it is presumed most of his children were grown and gone. Personal property tax roll for 1875 in Liberty Township, Oregon S. Kirkpatrick is shown that he owned 2 horses valued at $130 and 1 Meat Cattle (Steer) valued at $20.
