Florence May Garland

St. Joseph Herald Press, St. Joseph, St. Joseph, Michigan, Wednesday, January 14, 1953, Page 12, Col. 7: Mrs. Florence May Crandall, 70, wife of Floyd Crandall, died Tuesday morning at her home on South Park road in Bainbridge township. She had lived in the Spinks Corners community since she was eight years old, coming here with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Horace Garland from Harper Springs, Kan., where she was born May 8, 1882. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Florin funeral home, Benton Harbor, with the Rev. F. M. Barden of Sodus officiating. Burial will be in Crystal Springs cemetery. Friends may call at the Florin funeral home before services. Mrs. Crandall had been in ill heath three years and had been seriously ill since last October. Mr. and Mrs. Crandall were married Aug. 2, 1919 in Benton harbor. She attended the Moore's Corners Evangelical United Brethren church and was a member of the Merry Sewing circle. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Crandall is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Harlan Coleman of Benton harbor, Mrs. harry Metzger of Eau Claire, and Mrs. Marshall Slack, of Coloma; one sister, Mrs. Harry Crossman of Benton Harbor, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
