The Herald, Rock Hill, South Carolina, Wednesday, March 23, 2005: Rock Hill---Mrs. Mary Ruth Clinton Carter, 72, of 231 Cummings St. died Monday, March 21, 2005, at home. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethesda Presbyterian Church cemetery, with the Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Carter was a daughter of the late Palmer Reid Clinton and Irene Smith Clinton. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was retired from EC Manufacturing Corp. Surviving are her husband, Lex W. Carter Sr.; four sons, John W. Carter, Lester Dean Carter and Lex W. Carter Jr., all of Rock Hill, and George Randy Carter of Charlotte; her daughter, Pat Carter Kirkland of Chester; her brother, Palmer Ray Clinton of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel and other times at home. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Community Care, P.O.
