Also surviving: daughters, Mrs. Sam Dill of Lockhart, Mrs. Everette Taylor of Union Route 5, and Mrs. Stanley Crocker of Hartsville; sons, William A. Carter of Chester Route 5, and A. G. Carter of Spartanburg; brothers, Velver E. Bentley of Jonesville Route 2, and James G. Bentley of Union; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
