Dec 29, 1910 - Humboldt Independent - Word was received first of the week by friends here that W.W. McKitrick and family met with quite a severe auto accident at or near Linton, N.D. in which W.W. had the ligaments torn loose from the backbone. Mrs. McKitrick received considerable injury to her face, one boy had a leg broken while the other escaped with some bruises and the loss of some teeth.
It seems they had hired an auto to take them out in the country to a daughters to spend Christmas and something went wrong with the machine and it upset with the above result.
June 8, 1911 - Humboldt Independent - The body of J.W. McKitrick, who died at his home in North Dakota the first of the week, arrived here this afternoon for funeral services and burial, which took place immediately on the arrival of the body at Union cemetery.
