Unknown Warrensburg Missouri newspaper, Monday, June 17, 1940: Mrs. Tennessee Borthick Dies. Mrs. Tennessee Kirkpatrick Borthick, 87, long a resident of Johnson County, died about 4:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at her home northeast of Chilhowee after an illness of nearly two years. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Sweeney-Phillips chapel, the Rev. C. J. Ford officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill. Mrs. Borthick was born October 16, 1843 [1853] at Nashville, Tenn., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kirkpatrick. She and H. C. Borthick were married in 1873 and his death occurred September 4*, 1934. Surviving are four children: Urie, Arthur and Ollie of the home, and Lula of El Dorado Springs. There are also left a brother, John Kirkpatrick of El Dorado Springs, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
