Funeral services for Ms. Mary Lee Barthel-East, of Thurmont, who died Friday, May 10, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, were held Tuesday, May 14, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick. The Rev. Burnis S. Barrett officiated. Ms. Barthel-East's grandson, Ivan D. Abarca, Jr., sang "Amazing Grace." Bearers were Ms. Barthel-East's son-in-law, Ivan Abarca Sr.; grandson, Ivan Abarca and Joe Petit, Jeff Mayhew, Jim Quesnberry and Rick Abersole. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
