He was born on September 30, 1917, a son of harry and Lou (Oleson) Zwank. He graduated from Edgewood High school and attended Loyola University in California, where he was a member of the football team. After college, he played with the Chicago Bears. He served with the U. S. Army in World War II. He married June carpenter on February 28, 1946, at St. Raphael's Church in Madison. He operated Bob Zwank's Farmers Market for many years. He was a member of VFW Post #8216 in Middleton. He is survived by a son, Douglas (Kathleen) of St. Simon Island, Georgia; a daughter, Karen (Christopher) Wagner of Madison; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, June; his parents; and a brother. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 4, 1988, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Middleton. Father Thomas Kelly will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fitch-Lawrence-Sanfillippo Funeral Home, 6021 University Avenue, on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Parish vigil will be on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Memorials to the family will be appreciated.
