The Daily Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Wednesday, October 25, 2000: Chronister, Richard Davis, 79, of OKC, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2000. He was born March 14, 1921 in Hendrickson, MO, son of Ruth and John D. Chronister. He began his insurance career in 1949, which he continued until 1999. After 31 years he retired from Prudential, where he was a Sales Manager, then retired again after 10 years at Transamerica Insurance Companies, where he was Assistant Branch Manager. Beginning in 1980, he worked for several companies through Chronister Insurance Agency. He married Mary Anne Bealmear on August 15, 1942. He was a WWII veteran, serving 6 years in the Army Air Force, part of that time on Okinawa. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and the Triquetra Sunday School Class; an usher for 50 years, served as Chairman of the Missions Commission, the Evangelism Commission, the Finance Committee, the Administrative Board and as a member of the Board of Trustees. He was a member of the OKC Chapter of Life Underwriters; OKC Chapter of Financial Service Professionals; OKC Masonic Lodge #36 and 32 degree Mason at Guthrie Consistory; India Shrine Temple; Scottish Rite Society; Oklahoma city Town Hall; life member of the Deaconess Hospital Auxiliary; life member of the OU Dad's Club; and in 1995 served as president of the Oklahoma Retired Citizens Travel Club. He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne; son, Richard D. Chronister, Jr., and wife Vickie, Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Mary Carolyn Jones, Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren, Susan and Karen Chronister, Craig, Mark and Laura Jones; brothers, Norman Chronister, Poplar Bluff, MO; Carroll Chronister, Poplar Bluff, MO; stepbrother, Eugene Smith, Selah, WA. Services will be Friday, October 27, 10 a.m., at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 222 N.W. 15, Oklahoma City. Viewing at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper OKC on Wednesday and Thursday.
