Martha Jane Taylor

Salt Lake Tribune, Salt Lake, Utah, Tuesday, January 16, 1940, Page 18, Col. 1: Heber---Mrs. Martha Taylor Witt, 87, widow of John W. Witt, died at her home late Sunday. She had been ill one and a half years. She was born April 13, 1852, in England, daughter of James and Alice Walker Taylor. When she was a small girl the family came to this country living for a time in Pennsylvania. In 1863 they came to Utah. She was married to Mr. Witt in the Salt Lake L. D. S. endowment house. He died 33 years ago. Two of their six sons survive, J. E. Witt of Redondo Beach, Cal., and Alma Witt of Heber. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Heber L. D. S. Third ward chapel by Bishop Ralph Giles. Burial will be in Heber city cemetery. Friends may call at Olpin Brothers mortuary Tuesday and at the residence Wednesday until time for service.
