Madera Tribune, Madera, California, October 5, 1951, Page 5, Col. 4: Man Dies While Rounding Up Cattle. Everett Ellis, 37, of Fresno and formerly of North Fork, died of a heart attack yesterday while rounding up cattle on the Eddie Polkenhorn ranch located on the Auberry Road. Madera County Coroner R. S. Jay reported today. He was found by a neighbor from an adjoining ranch who said Ellis was lying by the side of his horse where he had apparently fallen when seized by the heart attack, according to Coroner Jay. Ellis was a native of North Fork and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Ellis of North Fork. His survivors include his parents; his wife. Patricia, Fresno; and two daughters, Sandra and Joan. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Saturday in Jay Chapel with interment in Belmont Memorial Cemetery. Fresno, with Jay Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
