Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, June 25, 2006: Charles L. Bowers, 69, of Corning, Ark. died Friday, June 23, 2006, in Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Bowers was born May 23, 1937, in Rombauer. He had lived in Corning, Ark. for one year. He had retired as a dispatcher with the Corning Police Department. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Corning and formerly attended Spanish Lake Baptist Church in St. Louis County. Survivors include one son, Charles Dale Bowers of Panama City, Fla.; and a special friend, Shirley M. Pennington of Ellsinore. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday in Fitch Hillis Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Rombauer Cemetery.
