She was born Jan. 6, 1920, at Fort Scott, the daughter of Virgil Newton and Laura Mae Decker Briggs. She married Clifford D. Key, May 31, 1959, at Fort Scott. Mrs. Key was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, ONO Club and was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi. She worked as a private secretary for 35 years for the Western Insurance Companies. Survivors include her husband, of the home; one sister, Betty Bruce, Gardner, Kan.; one niece, Shirley Brown, Gardner; and one nephew, Larry Bruce, Overland Park, Kan. The Rev. Peter Vial will conduct services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and the First Presbyterian Church and may be left at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
